Competence standards for fire risk assessment ? - yes, we are competent

The Competency Council for Fire Risk Assessors is an open group which has emerged from the fire sector (involving fire services and other bodies). It has recently published a recommended list of essential skills for persons to be of a minimum level of competence in fire risk assessments. The 9 levels of competence are listed below.
- the assessment of risk from fire
- applicable legislation
- appropriate guidance
- behaviour of fire in buildings
- behaviour of people in fire situations
- means of escape
- fire prevention
- fire protection
- management of fire safety
