Government survey on community events red tape
The Government is currently asking the organisers of community events and activities to share their experiences of local and national-authority regulators.
The Focus on Enforcement campaign survey can be found at the web site; http://discuss.bis.gov.uk/focusonenforcement/ It asks those involved in all kinds of community events, especially unpaid volunteers to share their views on how the way regulations are enforced can be improved, reduced, or done differently.
We look forward to learning of its findings. I am sure that comments will vary massively from one area to another and in dealings with one official to another.

"The Safety Organisation Ltd is simply THE right company to have around when producing an event in the UK.
As a Health & Safety Consultancy they have a prodigious knowledge of what is and isn't permitted, so you can be sure that their advice sticks.
In addition, however, they are extremely personable and discreet, making their presence on site a pleasure. Most importantly, however, they are extremely pragmatic, meaning that when producing an event, you can be sure that they won't see H&S as being the centre of the operation. They have a VERY experienced eye as to what does and does not matter, making my life significantly easier and allowing us all to move forward in a constructive and productive way.
Whenever I produce in the UK, The Safety Organisation Ltd are my company!”
